Henrik Strindberg: One Child Teacher Book and Pen (uruppf)

Carola Bauckholt: Laufverk/Sog: 2012/2013

The Norwegian ensemble Cikada has since its inception in 1989 consisted of flute, clarinet, piano, persussion, string quartet, and the conductor Christian Eggen. Cikada’s surprising, vibrant, warm, and virtuosic interpretations of its consciously chosen new repertiore has supplied the ensemble with its strong identity and established them as one of the most outstanding ensembles on the international new music scene. A central theme for Cikada is its development of close, long-term  relationships with composers, creating composer portraits with both existing and commissioned works. Each concert is carefully planned to create a present, welcoming musical flow. Cikada was awarded the prestigious Nordic Music Prize in 2005.

”One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first.”
Malala Yousafzai speaks at the UN on his 16th birthday, July 12, 2013. This Swedish Radio commissioned piece by Henrik Strindberg is being recorded live for P2.
